A lot of people who are willing to start their call center ask me every day about things which they must have before starting call center. so I have combines few Important points which one must have in their mind before they start a call center or they are new in this Business, I cannot cover  A to Z in a Single Blog but I have tried to cover all of the basic things Required, Hope you will Find this Blog Helpful.



 1. Experience.



If you think Call Center Business is Profitable and will earn you more Profits with less capital than yes you are right. But in Call Center Business thing which matters the most is you experience and Knowledge of Call Center Industry. Because you will be spending huge amount of money on your running expenses and you need to know about the costs of everything from daily to monthly and small to large expenses. These Expenses include VoIP, Data (Leads) ,Dialer , Salaries , Call Center Equipment (Computers, Head Phones Etc.). People can cheat on all of these Expenditures if you don’t have basic knowledge about these things. Its better to check market before purchase of I.T Equipment, Avoid unnecessary Purchases But always purchase reliable I.T equipment and for VoIP and Data you need to be extra Careful because even a single 0 to .001 can end up charging you big each day,

Experience is very important when you are dealing with you workforce, Agents + Managers. Call Center Industry need Smart people as it is Nature of work so when you are dealing with smart people than you need to be smarter than smart. You can easily go back home losing everything if you are taking call center business as some automatic moneymaking machine.

There are Different types of call Centers  like Inbound & Outbound , Sales & Services etc. Something that is common in all these call center is the Campaign that they are doing, If you are a company Providing products and Services and want to increase sale by cold calling or you want to Provide support to your customers though call center than that means you have your own campaign and you don’t need to look for another Primary campaign,

But if want to start a call center to run Campaign of other companies who outsource their support or telemarketing to call centers than here comes the problem, Scamming is very easy thing to do in call center industry when people are looking for campaign by reading post of some random publisher and try to contact them online  sitting in a different country .Humble advice here for everyone who is looking to start a call center is to either have personal contacts with companies to get  campaign or look for a trusted campaign provider online and make alot of  research  about their reputation (Hard to Find).Don’t trust anyone and don’t rush towards start of any project . First complete all legal Process to sign Agreement with all terms and conditions according to Law of the country .Avoid E- Signatures and try to get originally signed Documents.


3. Team



Workforce/Team is the backbone of any call center, as mentioned above that you need Smart and active people because of the nature of the job (At least Mentally). Hire a mix of people both Fresh and Experience people, Don’t Hire all of experience people because they stay with you for a less period of time and they will leave you If they get a little better opportunity. Fresh Agents stay with you for a longer period of time and they are more loyal towards organization.

Your Management must have experience of same industry and always hire people who have experience of Managerial level posts in Call center and Avoid bosses as manager. Bosses are people having a boss attitude to override your decisions and they have owned call center in the past or they were in outsourcing game of call center.





4. Data (Leads) for Outbound Campaigns



If you are new to call center industry than you must know that VoIP and Data are 2 biggest running expenditures of any call centers especially for outbound campaigns. If you have your own targeted audience and you are collecting their details by yourself than its good but if you are dialing on any B 2 C Outbound campaign, especially performance base campaign than you need large number of data/leads files every day and Automatic dialer will burn these leads Even More Quickly which means Increase in production as well as expense of data,

Normally there are a lot of  data vendors available in the market who commit you to deliver customized data according to your requirements but after years of call center experience I have learned that they each time you will purchase data from any vendor , only thing that is 70 to 80% correct is basic information of customer like Name ,Number ,Address etc. ,and other than  that there are less chances of  getting what you are paying for.

My suggesting is to at least Purchase your Own database, Full database for 2 of the main Telemarketing Markets USA & UK is available on cheap price on different websites online which can cost around $1000 to $2000 for over 250Million USA Leads but if you purchase it from any data Vendor ,Than they may charge you  0.01 Cent to 0.015 Cent per Lead. May not be able to use that database for all of your campaigns but surely there are a lot of filters available in these databases which you can use to get customized data according to your campaign,




5. Capital 



Call Center Setup only Require I.T equipment, Building, Workstations etc. which are comparatively cheaper than they expected outputs of this Business and it’s a onetime cost. Main Cost of this Business is its Running cost which includes Data, VoIP, Salaries and Utilities.

Most of the call Centers eventually fail because they spend all of their capital on initial setup and they do not keep required amount of money for running expenses, Call center Business require a lot of patience as Owner and Training for the staff  to get desired outputs which takes time and you  results can take few months initially before you get payouts of your work ,and if payment cycle of  your campaign is net 30 or even net 15 than you  better keep some money in you  account to Pay running expense of your business .
